<h2>Why I'm running</h2><h3>I spent most of my early childhood in West Philadelphia, raised by my mother alongside my two sisters. Our fathers weren’t in our lives; mine was killed by gun violence when I was just two years old. My mother immigrated from Jamaica in the 1990s. She never graduated from high school, but when she became a mother at the age of 17 in America, she was determined to give her children a better life than the one she had. She worked sixty hours a week, cooking dinner before dawn so we wouldn’t go to bed hungry. But in a city where wages are low and rent is high, no matter how hard she worked, it never seemed like enough.</h3><img src="https://run.imgix.net/ad6ad6af-703a-4905-8d20-b62e68f5728b/038039a6-2424-4390-8e21-18b8d6af91f1/038039a6-2424-4390-8e21-18b8d6af91f1.jpeg?ixlib=js-3.8.0&amp;bri=0&amp;con=0&amp;sat=0&amp;high=0&amp;shad=0&amp;usm=0&amp;rect=0%2C421%2C945%2C1136&amp;w=1500" alt="" caption="" align="left" alignwidth="40" tiltdirection="left" variant="framed"><h3>When I was in third grade, I came home from school to find an eviction notice taped to our door. Within weeks, we were living out of bags, staying wherever someone would take us. We were homeless a total of three times over seven years. I saw what the 2008 recession did to working families — people like my mother who did everything right but still lost everything.</h3><h3>I was often abused by strangers we stayed with, and I kept quiet because we had nowhere else to go. That’s a sacrifice you make when you’re the man of the house. The women in my family needed to see strength in me, so through prayer, I learned to carry it — even when I was breaking inside. But I also carried something else — a promise to myself that I would build a life where my family and others like us would never have to live that way. again.</h3><h3>From a young age, I knew education would be my way out. However, my inner-city school was cutting our gifted program. I was being taught at the pace of the most disruptive person in class, and my dreams for success couldn’t be realized there. I reached out to the prestigious Haverford School on my own—twice—until they finally gave me a chance. It was unheard of for a student from West Philly to ask for that kind of opportunity, but I refused to accept the limits placed on me. That opportunity changed my life. It showed me what was possible when someone believes in your potential instead of your circumstances. But no matter how far I’ve come, I’ve never forgotten where I started.</h3><h3>I’m running for Congress because I know that change doesn’t come from politicians who’ve never lived it; it comes from those of us who have, and who refuse to stop fighting for security and dignity for all our families.</h3><h3>My campaign isn’t about waiting, and it’s not about excuses. It’s about fighting for an economy that rewards work, for housing that strengthens neighborhoods,&nbsp; and for a democracy that finally listens to the people it’s supposed to serve.</h3>

Nearly 90% of my family immigrated to the United States from Jamaica in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Like many American families, mine believes in the rule of law. People who commit serious crimes should be held accountable. But enforcement must be&nbsp;humane, constitutional, and worthy of a democracy because our children are watching how power is used in their name.What we are seeing today are masked federal agents conducting warrantless entries, anonymous policing, and intimidation tactics. It is a breakdown of accountability. I believe we can restore order&nbsp;and humanity by using the tools already available to us, starting at the local level and moving upward.<h3>Empowering Communities to Protect Due Process</h3>Cities and states cannot regulate federal agencies directlybut they can protect residents by enforcing constitutional boundaries around&nbsp;entry, consent, and transparency.I support local ordinances that: Affirm the right of residents, landlords, and business owners to&nbsp;deny entry to masked individuals who refuse to identify themselves, absent a&nbsp;judicial warrant.<h3>Forcing Accountability Through the Federal Budget</h3>When Congress lacks the votes to pass sweeping legislation, it still holds one of the Constitution’s most powerful tools:&nbsp;the power of the purse. Yet Democratic leadership in both the House and Senate has been far too timid in using it.I will challenge Democratic minority leadership to be bolder and more creative by: Conditioning Department of Homeland Security and ICE funding on compliance with&nbsp;due process and civil liberties, including bans on warrantless arrests and unlawful home entries. Restricting ICE’s ability to&nbsp;reprogram funds internally&nbsp;without congressional approval, preventing agencies from evading oversight. Attaching binding appropriations riders that prohibit funding for&nbsp;anonymous enforcement tactics&nbsp;and require public reporting when constitutional complaints or settlements exceed set thresholds.<h3>Knowing Who Is Arresting You</h3>Miranda rights protect your right to remain silent. They do not tell you&nbsp;who is exercising power over you. That gap has allowed anonymous federal policing to spread.Congress cannot rewrite Miranda itself, but it&nbsp;can go further&nbsp;by statute. I support a federal law requiring any federal officer making an arrest to identify themselvesby name or badge number, agency, and legal basis for the arrestas soon as it is safe to do so.

We need creative, lawful strategies that protect due process, limit anonymous enforcement, and force accountability. I will challenge both parties and push Democratic leadership to use every constitutional tool, including the federal budget, to fight abuses and defend human dignity.

Humane Immigration

Philadelphians feel the cost of inaction every month — when utility bills spike, transit systems strain, and working families are hit first by extreme heat, flooding, and pollution that gets dumped into our neighborhoods. The answer is not asking people to tighten their belts. It’s smart national policy that lowers costs, creates good local jobs, and gives communities control over their own energy.I support a clean energy transition that puts money back in people’s pockets while strengthening our neighborhoods and our future.Lower Utility Bills Through Clean Energy We need national policies that aggressively expand renewable energy and make it affordable for everyday homeowners. That means rebates, low-cost loans, and tax credits that help families install rooftop solar and energy-efficient upgrades without upfront costs. When people generate their own power, they should be able to&nbsp;sell excess energy back to the grid and receive fair compensation. If families help power America, they deserve to be paid for it.Energy-Efficient Homes, Not Energy Waste Simple upgrades like insulation, heat pumps, efficient appliances, and weatherization can dramatically cut monthly bills. Federal incentives should prioritize these upgrades, especially for older housing stock and working-class neighborhoods that have been ignored for decades.Real Investment in Public Transit, Rail, and Safe Streets Clean energy is not just about electricity. It is about how we move. Expanding and modernizing mass transit, including regional and national rail, reduces pollution, lowers transportation costs, and connects people to jobs and opportunity without forcing them to own a car. We also need&nbsp;protected bike lanes and safe cycling infrastructure&nbsp;so people can choose affordable, zero-emission transportation without risking their lives on dangerous streets, and lowers overall traffic and congestion.Support the People Doing the Work Across Philadelphia, local environmental advocates are holding the line often while working full-time jobs and then volunteering nights and weekends to protect their communities. We should fund local nonprofits so this work is sustainable, data-driven, and community-led.

We should be investing in our young people and keeping that investment right here at home.When I was in first grade, my teachers placed me with third graders for math and reading because I was a fast learner. I loved it, until the program was shut down for being “unfair” to others. That moment stuck with me because it showed how often potential gets stifled instead of nurtured.From there, I saw how a lack of resources holds back too many talented students. At Mastery Charter Shoemaker, advanced courses were cut because students weren’t meeting benchmarks—not because they couldn’t, but because they didn’t have the support to succeed. Hundreds of kids with dreams of becoming engineers, doctors, and scientists lost their chance before it even began.I was one of the lucky ones. I transferred to The Haverford School, where I found incredible support. Too many young people don’t get that shot.That’s why I’m proposing the Homegrown Scholars Initiative: a plan to invest directly in our students and educators by redirecting a portion of funds from programs like Fulbright back into our own communities.Instead of sending all of that money abroad, we’ll use a fraction of it to support students from underfunded zip codes who return home during college to tutor, mentor, or fill in as a teaching assistant. Those who do would receive stipends for their work, and graduates who move back to their hometowns would qualify for a $3,000 “community reinvestment credit.”Too often, our most vulnerable neighborhoods suffer from brain drain—the cycle where our brightest minds have to leave to find opportunity. This policy changes that by investing in those who invest in us.If we can fund global educational exchanges, we can also fund the rebuilding of our own communities. Let’s keep our best and brightest close to home, and make sure every child in Philadelphia has a chance to learn, thrive, and give back.<h3>Pell Grants for the Real American Dream</h3>For decades, Pell Grants have only been available to students going to college, and yet college is no longer the guaranteed pathway it once was. Tuition has exploded, degrees are becoming less valuable, and entire job sectors are being automated by AI billionaires who admit openly that their goal is to replace workers. It makes no sense that we force young people to take on&nbsp;tens of thousands of dollars in debt&nbsp;for a degree that may not even lead to a stable job.It’s time to modernize how America invests in its next generation.Under my plan, every high school graduate would receive access to their Pell Grant eligibility —&nbsp;even if they choose not to attend college. That money could be used for:<ul><li>Starting a small business</li><li>Workforce training or trade programs</li><li>A savings account or investment account</li><li>A first-home down payment</li><li>Tools, equipment, or certifications needed to launch a career</li></ul>College is one path to the American Dream — but it should not be the only one our government supports. By expanding Pell Grant eligibility, we’re giving young people the freedom to invest in&nbsp;themselves&nbsp;without taking on predatory debt designed to lock them into a broken system.<h3>Mandatory Financial Literacy Education</h3>We cannot expect young people to build wealth if we never teach them how. Too many students graduate high school without understanding credit, budgeting, taxes, interest rates, homeownership, or how predatory loans trap families in debt. Meanwhile, banks and corporations profit from that confusion.My plan makes&nbsp;financial literacy a mandatory course for every high school student. Students would learn:<ul><li>How to build credit and avoid predatory lending</li><li>How to budget, save, and invest responsibly</li><li>How mortgages, interest rates, and taxes actually work</li><li>How to evaluate job offers, benefits, and retirement plans</li></ul>If we want the next generation to build stable lives, buy homes, avoid crushing debt, and grow their wealth, we must give them the knowledge that our system has withheld for decades.<h3>Universal Pre-K and Childcare for Every Family</h3>Every child deserves a strong start, and every parent deserves the freedom to work, study, or build a stable life without being crushed by childcare costs. I support universal pre-K and universal childcare so that every family has access to safe, high-quality early education, and that no working-class family has to pay more than 7 percent of their income on .This investment strengthens child development, reduces long-term educational gaps, and boosts our economy by allowing parents to fully participate in the workforce. No family should have to choose between earning a paycheck and caring for their children.<h3>Ending Charter School Tax Loopholes</h3>Too many wealthy investors use charter schools as tax shelters rather than as real investments in children. If someone wants to claim federal tax benefits for building a charter school in a low-income neighborhood, then that school must meet clear performance and accountability benchmarks. Education should never be a loophole that enriches investors while failing the very students it is supposed to serve. My plan ensures that any school receiving these tax advantages delivers real results for children and real value for the community.<h3>Tackling Truancy</h3>Chronic absenteeism is one of the most overlooked crises in our education system, and charter schools are no exception. In Philadelphia,&nbsp;more than 50 percent of students at charter schools are chronically truant&nbsp;— a rate that in some cases is&nbsp;higher&nbsp;than nearby public schools. Yet charter schools continue to receive full taxpayer funding for every student they enroll, even if that student is frequently absent or ultimately pushed out. And when a charter school expels or forces out a student mid-year, they are&nbsp;not required to return that money&nbsp;to the district or to the public school that must then educate that child.This creates a system where charters can benefit financially from high enrollment numbers without being held accountable for attendance, retention, or actual educational progress. That is unacceptable.Charter schools should only receive full funding if they show measurable progress in reducing truancy and keeping students engaged. Schools that consistently fail to maintain attendance or push out high-need students should face funding adjustments and be required to implement mandatory improvement plans. Taxpayer dollars should follow&nbsp;student success, not enrollment games.

The Homegrown Scholar's Initiative

They’re clustered together not because families asked for them, but because our families are trapped in cycles of poor nutrition and poor health. .Low-income neighborhoods face&nbsp;twice as many fast-food outlets&nbsp;as wealthier areas, and Americans now spend more than half of their entire food budget eating out. The&nbsp;Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative&nbsp;fights back by limiting the over-saturation of fast-food chains and reinvesting in real community health. But zoning reform alone isn’t enough — we need a cultural shift that empowers people to make healthier choices by giving them access to alternatives.We should&nbsp;target the communities most affected&nbsp;and flood them with better options:<h3>🌱&nbsp;1. A National Seed Program</h3>Free seeds for families to plant in their backyards, front patches, porches, or windowsills — empowering people to grow their own herbs, fruits, and vegetables, even in dense urban areas.<h3>🌿&nbsp;2. Convert Overgrown City Lots into Community Gardens</h3>Take abandoned, overgrown lots in inner cities and transform them into clean, vibrant neighborhood gardens and growing spaces. Create local jobs and youth programs in the process.<h3>🍎&nbsp;3. Free Nutrition + Cooking Classes</h3>Give families the tools to make healthy, affordable meals at home. Workshops at community care centers would teach everything from budgeting to meal prep to culturally grounded recipes.<h3>🧩&nbsp;4. Quality affordable healthcare is a fundamental goal for modern health systems, focusing on two equally vital components: providing effective, evidence-based medical care while ensuring the costs do not impose financial hardship on patients. The "quality" component requires that care is safe, timely, patient-centered, and effective, addressing issues like the underuse of necessary services, the overuse of unnecessary ones, and the misuse of treatments that can lead to errors.The "affordability" component is crucial because, without it, access to quality care is meaningless; many adults report skipping or postponing necessary treatments, such as filling prescriptions or getting screenings, due to high costs, leading to poorer health outcomes and significant medical debt.Achieving quality, affordable healthcare involves complex policy changes aimed at both expanding coverage and controlling costs. Efforts like the Affordable Care Act (ACA) have worked toward this by expanding Medicaid, creating competitive insurance Marketplaces with financial subsidies, and implementing regulations that prohibit charging higher premiums based on pre-existing conditions. Beyond insurance, achieving high quality requires addressing the rising overall costs of care, tackling the opioid crisis, and fixing infrastructure issues like limited broadband access that affect the delivery of modern healthcare.When successful, greater affordability provides peace of mind, improves physical and mental well-being, increases the diagnosis and management of chronic diseases like diabetes, and contributes to better long-term public health and economic stability.<h3>Preventive Care First</h3>Affordable healthcare requires putting prevention at the center of our system, not treating illness only after it becomes severe and expensive. We should mandate&nbsp;no copay coverage for evidence based preventive services, so cost is never a barrier to screenings, vaccines, maternal care, mental health check ins, and early detection.Medicare and Medicaid must be expanded to fully cover preventive care, especially for seniors, people with disabilities, and low income families. These programs should invest in keeping people healthy through routine screenings, early diagnostics that reduce emergencies and long term costs.Prevention also means treating&nbsp;nutrition, exercise, and physical therapy as healthcare, not optional add ons. Covering nutrition counseling, active gym memberships, and preventive physical therapy helps people manage chronic conditions, avoid injury, and maintain independence.Prioritizing prevention improves quality of life and lowers costs. Investing in evidence based preventive care reduces hospitalizations, emergency visits, and long term disability while building a healthcare system that rewards keeping people healthy rather than profiting from preventable illness.

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. No family should ever face medical bankruptcy because of an unexpected illness. We must build on the protections for pre-existing conditions and use the power of the federal government to lower prescription drug costs immediately. Users must opt in with clear consent, not be tricked into agreeing. Your data is your property, and it should not be bought or sold without your knowledge.<h3>Protecting Communities from Big Tech’s Energy Burden</h3>Data centers use massive amounts of electricity, driving up energy demand and increasing utility costs for surrounding residents. I support federal legislation requiring data centers to&nbsp;pay the full cost of the electricity they consume and prohibiting them from passing that burden onto local families and small businesses.&nbsp;Tech giants should not be allowed to raise regional energy prices to protect their profits.

In the Age of AI, families deserve protection from tech overreach. I will fight to give Americans control over their personal data and hold tech giants accountable for skyrocketing energy costs.

Across major cities like Philadelphia, families are being priced out of the very neighborhoods they built. Corporate investors and shell LLCs are buying up homes and lots by the block, turning them into rental empires and charging sky-high rents, fees, and add-ons that bleed working people dry. This isn’t a housing market—it’s a system of extraction.Institutional investors now own more than 15% of single-family rentals in Philadelphia, with some neighborhoods nearing one in five homes under LLC control. That means fewer opportunities for first-time buyers, higher rent costs, and less stability for everyone else.Thirty years ago, the average first-time homebuyer was 28. Today, it’s 40, and in a few years, it will be 45. At this rate, my generation will own nothing while being told to “work harder” by the same people profiting off our rent checks.I propose capping how much neighborhood property a single corporation or LLC can own, empowering local governments to repurchase units from large investors and return them to first-time buyers or community land trusts, and banning shell transfers that let companies conceal ownership through fake subsidiaries.We need more leaders in Congress fighting to protect the American dream of homeownership before it's sold off to the highest bidder. Working families should shape our neighborhoods, not corporate landlords.

Thirty years ago, the average first-time homebuyer was 28. Today, it’s 38. I am 24 years old, and by the time I am 38, that average will move to 45. years old. At this rate, my generation will own nothing.

<h3>Ban Congressional Stock Trading</h3>Members of Congress should serve the American people — not their personal investment portfolios. Too many lawmakers buy and sell stocks in industries they’re responsible for regulating, and even when it isn’t illegal, it’s unethical. I support a full ban on stock trading for members of Congress and their spouses.<h3>No Paychecks During Gov't Shutdowns</h3>When Congress fails to do its basic job of funding the government, millions of federal workers lose paychecks — but members of Congress still get paid. That’s wrong. If the government shuts down, lawmakers should not receive a paycheck until they reopen it. Period. This is about accountability. No more holding the economy hostage, no more using working families as bargaining chips, and no more political blackmail. If members of Congress had to feel the same consequences as the people they represent, they would have a real incentive to come to the table, negotiate in good faith, and keep the government open.<h3>Make AIPAC Register as a Foreign Lobby</h3>Our democracy cannot function when foreign policy organizations exert outsized influence over our elections and lawmakers. AIPAC operates to advance the interests of a foreign government, yet it is not held to the same transparency standards as other foreign lobbying efforts. I support requiring AIPAC to register as a foreign lobby so the public can see who is influencing our politics and how.We need to spend more of our tax dollars here at home—strengthening our health care infrastructure, protecting critical public institutions, and investing directly in local communities. Endless foreign military aid crowds out the resources working families need to thrive.I support ending all U.S. military aid to Israel and drawing a clear red line: politicians of either party who accept money tied to foreign influence should not be shaping U.S. policy.<h3>Restore Democratic Votes in the House</h3>Right now, too much power is concentrated in the hands of the Speaker of the House. Even when a bipartisan majority supports a bill, leadership can quietly block it from ever receiving a vote to gatekeeper the agenda of the establishment.I support changing House rules so that if a&nbsp;discharge petition reaches at least 100 votes from the majority party, that bill must be brought to the floor for a full vote. Members should not be able to hide behind leadership or procedural tricks.<h3>End Corporate Money in Our Elections</h3>Our democracy cannot function when corporations are allowed to spend unlimited money to influence elections. The&nbsp;Citizens United&nbsp;decision opened the floodgates to corporate political spending, drowning out the voices of everyday voters and distorting our priorities in Washington.I support overturning Citizens United and&nbsp;banning corporate money in federal elections.<h3>No More Continuing Resolutions (CR's)</h3>Congress has one job every year: pass a budget. And yet, we haven’t passed all 12 appropriations bills on time in decades. Instead, Washington keeps playing the same broken game — waiting until the last minute, then scrambling to pass either a massive omnibus that runs thousands of pages (which no one has actually read), or kicking the can down the road with another Continuing Resolution.Meanwhile, our national debt and deficit keep climbing by trillions every year. Families don’t get to avoid budgeting by filing extensions forever — and Congress shouldn’t either. If elected, I will build a coalition of Democrats and Republicans who refuse to vote for any more CRs until Congress does its job and passes a real budget through the regular appropriations process. No more governing by crisis. No more political theater. No more runaway spending with zero transparency. It’s time to restore fiscal responsibility, basic competence, and actual accountability to Congress.<h3>Term Limits for Members of Congress</h3>Congress was never meant to be a lifetime career. I support term limits for both the House and the Senate to ensure fresh leadership, new ideas, and accountability. When lawmakers stay in Washington for decades, they stop representing the people who elected them and start protecting the system that benefits them. Term limits return power to voters and prevent political stagnation.<h3>Closing the Revolving Door</h3>No member of Congress — and no federal regulator — should be allowed to leave office and immediately cash in at the very corporations they were responsible for regulating. I support a strict&nbsp;five-year ban&nbsp;on members of Congress and federal workers overseeing specific industries from working for or joining the boards of companies in those industries. This is how we stop the revolving door, end conflicts of interest, and ensure that public service is not used for private gain.

Holding the Trump Administration accountable and taking back the House is only half of the fight. If we want real change, then we must take that fight to DC and reform Congress.

<h3>The Crisis of Connection: Rebuilding Public Safety from Within</h3>I grew up in neighborhoods across Philadelphia—full of strength and love, but also pain. I lost my father and grandfather to gun violence before I turned eight. I’ve seen firsthand how simple it is for a young person to get a gun, join a gang with their classmates, or choose the wrong path. These are tragic choices kids face every single day, and most adults have no idea how easy it is to open those doors.When I talk to older adults in my family or at church, they tell me they can’t walk their dogs after dark anymore. They don’t know their neighbors like they used to. That sense of community, the one that once kept our neighborhoods safe—is slipping away.For too long, young Black men like me have been:<ul><li>Portrayed as thugs instead of leaders.</li><li>Criminalized instead of mentored.</li><li>Isolated instead of invested in.</li><li>Jailed instead of guided.</li></ul>I want to change that.We cannot police our way out of a crisis of connection; we must rebuild it from within. My core proposal is simple: To reconnect our communities and restore civic responsibility, we must require community service for every high school student.Every young person should graduate having volunteered in their own neighborhood—at churches, rec centers, food banks, or nonprofits. This is about re-teaching what it means to serve, to connect, and to belong.In countries like Finland and South Korea, national service builds unity and purpose. We can do that here too—not through force, but through community. It’s conservative in spirit because it restores responsibility, family, and civic duty. But it’s progressive in its outcome because it rebuilds trust, reduces crime, and invests in the next generation.We can’t police our way out of a crisis of connection. We have to rebuild it from within.Reforming the Justice System: Incentivizing Good BehaviorFor those who have served their time, we should prioritize second chances and successful reintegration into society. We shouldn’t only punish bad behavior—we should incentivize good behavior that keeps communities safe.<ul><li>5-Year Clean Record Tax Credit: If you’ve been home for five years without a new conviction, you qualify for an individual tax credit. This encourages stability and rewards positive change.</li><li>Fifteen-Year Look-Back Limit: For most non-violent offenses, if you haven’t re-offended after 15 years, your old record should not be visible to most employers. Second chances must be viable again.</li><li>Reduced Sentences for GED Completion &amp; Military Service: We should reward people who use their time inside to build a better future. If an incarcerated individual completes their&nbsp;GED, gains a recognized vocational certificate, or chooses to&nbsp;enlist in the U.S. military, they should earn a meaningful reduction in their sentence. Education and service are two of the strongest predictors of post-release stability — and we should structure our system to encourage both.</li></ul>

If we truly want to call ourselves a pro-life society, that care must go beyond debates about birth. It has to mean supporting mothers before, during, and long after pregnancy. It has to mean showing up for families when times are hard, not just preaching about responsibility from afar.That’s why I’m proposing Community Care Centers—neighborhood spaces where women, parents, and families come together for support at every stage of life. These would be welcoming, judgment-free places that serve as part mentorship hub, part resource center, and part extended family.Imagine a space where a young or expecting mother can talk with an older neighbor about sleepless nights, childcare, or how to stretch a grocery budget. Where a teenage boy growing up without a father can learn from community men how to change a tire or manage his emotions. Where grandparents, parents, and kids can share the same space.We’re losing those third spaces—the parks, porches, churches, barbershops, and community centers that once tied our neighborhoods together. Without them, isolation grows, and when isolation grows, so do despair and hopelessness.If we want to reduce our kids’ proximity to crime and adverse outcomes, we have to start before they’re in trouble. Early mentorship, guidance, and belonging are how we break cycles. A boy who feels seen is less likely to be lost to the streets. A young mother who feels supported is less likely to struggle alone.

We’re losing the third spaces that once held our neighborhoods together — the parks, farmers' markets, barbershops, where people built connection and belonging. As those spaces disappear, isolation grows. And when isolation grows, so do despair and hopelessness.If we’re serious about building a society that values life, dignity, and community, then we must invest in community care centers.

Community Care Centers

When I got my first job at the Franklin Institute, earning $7.25 an hour, I realized how deeply the system was designed to keep working families poor. Washington tells us workers pay too little in taxes, yet when the ultra-rich get permanent tax breaks, it’s branded as “economic growth.” While working families are told to wait for prosperity to “trickle down,” our wages stagnate, productivity soars, and the cost of living explodes.For years, Democrats have promised to make corporations “pay their fair share,” yet through multiple administrations, we have consistently failed to deliver serious reform. That establishment failure, the backroom deals, and the sellout to wealthy donors, is why I am proposing policies that give politicians no room to hide and no excuses left to stall progress. I will fight for a system that finally puts workers ahead of corporate interests: I will lower taxes for working families, raise the corporate tax rate, and add an increase on incomes over $1 million a year. I will also push to raise the federal minimum wage, ensuring that work pays enough to live with dignity. <h4>A Better Partnership, Not a False Divide</h4>We must be able to build a better partnership between working people, small business owners, and those who have achieved success in our communities. We cannot govern by penalizing or demonizing people simply for striving for the American Dream or for achieving it. In many neighborhoods, the people who have “made it” are the same ones donating to local nonprofits, supporting performing arts centers, funding youth programs, and investing in the values that strengthen our communities.<h4>Conditional Bailouts for Corporations</h4>If a corporation has a market cap over $20 billion and still requires a federal bailout, taxpayers should not be left holding the bill. Any corporation receiving federal rescue funding must be required to pay it back, with interest, within 5 to 10 years. For too long, we’ve accepted an economic system where corporations are deemed “too big to fail,” yet working families are treated as disposable. Executives cannot keep gambling with our economy while placing all the risk on the public. If Wall Street gets a lifeline, Main Street deserves full repayment.<h4>AI and Automation</h4>AI and automation are transforming our economy, but they should not eliminate livelihoods just to boost shareholder profits. If a company eliminates large portions of its workforce in favor of automation, their corporate tax rate must automatically increase. We cannot allow tech billionaires like Elon Musk to openly lobby for taxpayers to subsidize the technology that replaces the very workers funding it. Innovation must improve lives, and if corporations profit from sacrificing the American workforce, they must contribute substantially more back into the system that funds unemployment insurance, Social Security, health care, and retraining programs.

Our economy must reward work, not just wealth. For too long, the system has prioritized the race to become the first trillionaire, stock buybacks, and tax cuts for the ultra-rich. We need an economy where a single 40-hour paycheck covers the rent, food, and childcare. That means taxing billionaires, breaking up corporate monopolies, and strengthening unions to empower working families.
